As one takes a comprehensive look at the literature on the relationship between emotions, motivations and the "limbic systems" of the brain, one finds confusion of terminology, confusion of what is to be considered within the limbic systems, confusion as to what parts of the brain -- including what parts of the limbic brain -- are to be
considered related to emotions and motivations. The workshop will
trace the origins of the confusions and a rather surprising set of
data that afford a resolution of the confusion.
