Respiratory Sinus Arhythmia  (RSA) Biofeedback Training was developed in Russia, by Alexander Smetankin's Biosvyaz-- a private company allowed to incorporate before the break-up of the former Soviet Union. The deal they made with the communist leaders was th ey had to open a free clinic in Leningrad (now St. Petersberg) for children. The main biofeeback modality they offered was RSA training.
