"You're a raccoon," she said.   I don't know how I felt about that, since I usually associate raccoons with garbage cans.

"And what's your husband?"

"He's a big chocolate lab."

"So could you spend between 5 and 30 minutes per day walking around downtown visualizing everyone you encounter as an animal?   Remember it's just an experiment to learn what would happen.   Amy enthusiastically accepted the challenge and his maneuver removed the logjam we had been experiencing.   Progress ensued from there, and I'm convinced that some of our initial difficulty had been my losing sight of the playfulness of healing and trying to make something happen sooner than it could without the back and forth of the dialogue and the play and novelty that characterizes change and transformation.
